A word from Eden Freed:

While you await the full length book, I was bursting at the seams to share these short tales with you. This compilation has two shorts you may know and two completely new ones, though all are sexy as hell and kinky enough to reread.

Having worked as a professional entertainer I have perhaps a bit more insight into the industry than most writers, and yes- that includes princess attire, balloon twisting, face painting, temporary tattooing, psychic reading mayhem (not all at once thank goodness) the likes of which no one would ever believe. Let me tell you those four year olds can be tough as nails and the adults nearly as difficult. Still, entertaining is the business of keeping people happy and smiling and you can’t help but love a good party.

A few years ago, a friend and author told me to write what I know and write from the heart, and I think she’d be pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy it, too!

Since we usually add a cocktail/ virgin drink recipe, we’re including a spiked dessert from the Decorators Book Series. Below you will find recipes for cream Puff Pastry & Pastry Filling. Add in a cupcake liquid infuser full of Amaretto, Chocolate Liquor, or Brandy and you’re ready to serve (omit the alcohol for the kiddies).

A blurb:

This collection of four erotic romance stories by Eden Freed from the Decorators series is sure to warm your heart.
Book 1: (M/F) Rope Bunny- Candy wants nothing more than to be in Master Colt’s ropes. She’s new to the scene and hopes reality will match her fantasies, but when she meets DM Ethan Thompson she begins to wonder if she’s been pining for the wrong Dom.
Book 2: (M/F) Sweet, With Just a Hint of Kink- Cala is a brat used to getting her way. It’s simple, she only has to ask for something and she gets it. Chef Pain is a man of principles, and no amount of money or power can intimidate him. He is a Dominant with his own power. Cala is about to learn, that power comes from within.
Book 3: (M/F) Knot A Princess: Briar is a young mother and widow, struggling to cope with her loss. No man can measure up to a hero who had given his life for his country, but that leaves Briar lonely. She bravely puts on Princess dress to entertain children at parties filled with rich snobs, so she can provide for her son. Then this new age Cinderella gets noticed by the prince. Will this be just another gig, or a happily ever after?
Book 4: (F/F) The Picture of My Heart- Julianne is an aspiring photojournalist eeking out a living as a wedding photographer. Her muse is looking for something more and she finds that with Ann, famous artist Tadeusz Christov’s companion/model. The deeper Julianne probes, the more she discovers about Ann and Christov, until she isn’t sure what is real. The only thing she knows is what she wants… Ann.

And now for the recipe…

Timeless Treats- inspired by Eden Freed’s  Decorators Series Cog’s and Gear’s Café

Today’s Cream Puff Pastry-

Ingredients:

1 c. water

1/4 c. butter

pinch of salt

4 eggs

1 c. flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425° F.
  2. Boil water, butter (cut into pieces), and salt in medium saucepan.
  3. Once butter has melted, reduce heat and gradually add in flour. You want a nice lump free dough, so I always sift it in with a small hand held sifter.
  4. Mixture will come away from the sides and ball up. That’s your sign to remove it from the heat entirely and let it cool.
  5. Once the dough is cool, whisk eggs in one at a time being sure not to get any shell in there. You should get a moist dough.
  6. Drop by tablespoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet, or use your favorite pastry bag set for a fancier look.
  7. Bake at 425° F for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350° F for an additional 25 minutes.
  8. Remove pastry from oven and cut small hole in side to vent the moisture so you don’t end up with soggy pastry.
  9. Fill with Yesterday’s Pastry Cream (below), custard, or jam and serve.

Yesterday’s Pastry Cream-

I make this the day before so its thoroughly chilled before using.

Ingredients:

1/2 c. sugar

1/4 c. cornstarch

2 c. whole milk (3%)

4 egg yolks

Pinch of salt

2 tablespoons butter

1 Teaspoon vanilla sugar or vanilla extract

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt in medium saucepan and set aside. If you are using vanilla sugar, add it in.
  2. Whisk milk and egg yolks together, add in chopped butter, and add to saucepan.
  3. Bring to boil over medium heat. DO NOT BURN
  4. Allow mixture to boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. If you are using vanilla extract instead of vanilla sugar, add it after mixture has been removed from heat.
  5. Strain-make sure everything is uniform and there are no lumps of cornstarch in there.
  6. Place in container and cover with plastic wrap(right to the surface of the mixture so you don’t get a pudding like skin on the top).
  7. Keep in the refrigerator overnight (hence the yesterday’s).
  8. Pipe in to Today’s Cream Puff Pastry(above) or hell, just eat it with lady fingers and fruit. Can you say trifle?

Finishing touches:

You can add dark chocolate ganache to the top and some candied orange rind, pop in a cupcake infuser full of your favorite sweet alcohol, or just sprinkle powdered (confectioner’s) sugar on top and serve with fresh berries. A little of yesterday and a little of today make this a timeless treat!

King of the Mardi Gras

Eden Freed is working on a few exciting projects.  In the mean time she has some Short Stories From Eden’s Garden, just to hold you over, till then.

Just a quick taste or a tease if you would, her short stories debut with:

The King of the Mardi Gras, now available on Kindle.

Excerpt:

“Phillip!” she screamed for the stagehand as I walked in wearing my best wool suit and closed the door behind myself. Lydia Thompson faced her fair share of gentleman callers since her Burlesque troupe, the British Blonds, arrived in the United States but I was decidedly different. I was greedier than most and she looked at me with uneasy eyes.

“Cher, don’t be frightened. I am here to make a business proposition. We would love to feature you and your troupe in New Orleans.”

Lydia relaxed a little and laughed, “Then, you, sir, are wasting your time. I have a schedule of engagements. Good day to you.”

“I’ll not be dissuaded so easily. Surely there is some enticement I can offer, something your heart desires,” I suggested, easing the door open and looking out into the hallway. When she peered out into the dimly lit hallway and saw no one, Lydia let out a sigh. “Were you expecting someone, perhaps?” My wry smile sent a chill through her that I was certain even the devil himself couldn’t have produced. These modern women so skittish. Be a good kitten, take the bait.

“If you please, Mister…”

“Louis, Louis Solomon,” I replied lifting her hand up to my lips with a mixture of finesse and charm that could teach the devil a thing or two.

Blurb:

Can Lydia navigate waters of a deal murkier than Louisiana swamp, to get her hearts delight or will she fail and succumb to mediocrity both on stage and in her bed. A sweet tale of love, Mardi Gras style.

Liquid Friday with author Laci Paige

This week we are featuring author Laci Paige and her erotic novel Silken Edge.

But before we reach out for her new work of fiction let us find out what does Laci suggest for our readers this Friday night?

I’m a self professed chocoholic, so a chocolate martini is my pick for that very reason. And who doesn’t love a martini glass? I think they’re sexy and sophisticated.”

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. cream de cacao

1.5 oz. chocolate Liqueur

2.5 oz. half-and-half

.75 oz. vodka

1 cup of ice

Combine chocolate liqueur, cream de cacao, vodka, half-and-half, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Cover and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

For an indulgent finishing touch, drizzle chocolate syrup around the inside of your martini glass before pouring.

Synopsis:

The relationship was over long before it ended, so when her boyfriend dumps her, Kristy craves a change in life. Kristy’s best friend, Sherry, is into the BDSM scene, and on a whim and a bet, Kristy finds herself in the playroom at an exclusive club. A disguised Dom named Master Jay uses sensation play and a piece of silk to help her discover the world of kink. She finds it enjoyable and addictive, but what she doesn’t know is that Master Jay is really Jake, a much younger man to whom she’s strongly attracted.

For the past couple of years, Jake quietly watched Kristy in his gym. He doesn’t care that she’s older than him; he wants her. When the virgin BDSM sub he’s hired to train ends up being Kristy, Jake almost falls apart. During the scene they play at the club, he fantasizes about getting her into restraints in his own playroom. But Kristy is shocked when she learns that the two men she desires are one and the same. Can Kristy who’s led a vanilla sex life, and Jake, who knows nothing but kink, find a future together?

A note from the author:
BDSM is variable; it’s not black and white, it’s not always deep and dark. It’s whatever the participants want it to be, it’s individual, and there is no “right” way to do it – as long as it’s SSC (safe/sane/consensual).
I’ve done my research and have adapted kink into my personal life as a result. I’ve been to clubs, private play parties, demonstrations, forums, workshops, conventions, and conferences on the subject of kink/BDSM.
Don’t let what you think you know about the lifestyle, or what you’ve read in novels affect your thoughts on the subject. Be open-minded.

Excerpt from The Silken Edge:

Jake pulled a key from his shorts and unlocked the new lock on his personal gym. Once inside, he kicked the door closed and turned on the lights. He looked around his room at the special-order gym equipment sporting cuffs and chains. His two favorite pastimes rolled into one–a gym of pleasure and pain. Despite the room being finished for several months now, he’d never shared this special place with anyone, and loneliness gnawed at him.

He dropped his head with a sigh. His plan had been to wait and tell Kristy that he was a paid Top, but only when the time was right. It shouldn’t have happened the way it did. “Fuck it, fuck this, and fuck her.” He closed his eyes and moaned. “God, I’d like to fuck her, and fuck her hard.” He snatched his iPod off a shelf and shoved the earbuds in. Cranking the music up loud, he walked to the mirrored wall and grabbed a set of hand weights. Closing his eyes, he began his repetitions in sync with the music.

When he opened his eyes, the mirror reflected someone behind him. He gasped. The door must not have closed behind him.

Standing just inside the door was Kristy, wide-eyed and looking around the room.

He put the weights down and turned, then leaned against the shelf and looked at her directly. Her hair was in a messy bun on top of her head, she wore a long, cotton T-shirt, and it appeared she had no pants to speak of underneath. At least he couldn’t see any. Aw, hell.

When she looked his way, he took a step in her direction, but then she took a step back. He stopped and took out his earbuds. “Is everything okay, Kristy?” His voice sounded soft and gentle to his own ears.

“I-I couldn’t sleep.”

“Do you want to go somewhere and talk?”

She shook her head and pulled her gaze from him to scan the room. Walking slowly around, she eyed each piece of equipment, ending up at an assortment of whips, canes, floggers, and paddles all lined up neatly in a recessed cove in the wall.

Jake didn’t move, unsure why she was there. He expected her to run at any time, but she didn’t.

She walked up to him and stood a few feet away, not making eye contact. Shifting from foot to foot, she asked, “So, this is your special gym?”

“Yes,” he whispered. “You’re the first to see it.”

She finally raised her head and looked directly into his eyes.

Holy shit. He thought he saw several things flash through them, but he was convinced the predominant one was need. His dick twitched and he slammed his eyes shut. Opening them, he saw her watching him. He clenched his jaw and relaxed it to speak. “Kristy, what is it? Did you want to talk to me about something? Are you planning to move out? Because, damn…you don’t have to, but I’ll tear up the rental agreement. And if you want to cancel your membership downstairs that’s fine too, I will waive the cancellation fee for you…if you want.”

“Jake, no. I don’t want to move out. I have nowhere else to go.” Looking down, she took a deep breath. “And if it’s all right, I want to keep my membership.” She peered up through her eyelashes.

“You do?” He couldn’t help the surprise in his voice.

“Yes, and I’m the one who should be sorry. After a nap, I woke up realizing how badly I behaved. I’m sorry. I felt blindsided; everyone was in on it except for me. I felt stupid and embarrassed. In the club…I thought you were a stranger, but you’re not a stranger, you’re my friend, and I didn’t handle the situation well.” Her cheeks pinked up. “It’s awkward for me.”

Out of everything she said, the word “friend” rang loudest in his ears. There was nothing more of a dampener on the libido than hearing the word “friend” from someone you find attractive. He turned and walked to the door. Holding it open, he said, “Kristy, I’m glad you’re staying, really I am, but you need to leave. Now.” His voice came out husky.

If she didn’t leave soon, he couldn’t be held accountable for what he’d do to her, and he’d enjoy every minute.

About the author:

When Laci’s not reading or writing, she can be found with her husband supporting their two teenaged children in a thing called life. Or maybe she’s running around with her camera taking photos while camping and/or hiking. Or lastly, and most probable – the TV is on in the background while she’s perusing her social media sites. Their family resides in the state of Virginia where Laci’s muse keeps her up late at night.

Blurb:

A young aspiring actress, majoring in Theater Arts in her last semester of school, must overcome mediocrity and learn to take violetdirection in time to be discovered by a talent scout during her final performance. Her new acting coach decides to teach her direction through a non-conventional method: introduction to BDSM. Will Violet have what it takes to learn the art of role playing or will she end up on the “casting couch?”

Excerpt:

“Frankly, you frustrate me Violet. I could teach you,” he said and I felt Chase hand grip my wrist and pull it towards him. Something in his face changed from excitement to concern and he let go of me and straightened out his shirt. He sat back in his seat and blew out through pursed lips before he said, “There are rules.”

…….

Without even hiking my jeans and underwear back up, I sat bare Perfect Gift!assed on the cool leather couch and awaited my punishment. My lower lip was trembling with nervous anticipation. I could feel my breaths coming in short gasps keeping time with Blythe’s quick footsteps as he returned

………

I loved each sub for who they were, but I wasn’t in love with them. Detaching myself from my subs a little made me a better master. I was more objective and able to exact obedience from them. One look at Violet pushed all of my reservation aside. I wanted to possess her completely and utterly.

…… Love isn’t easy. It takes courage. There are days when you just want to walk away and call it quits because you feel as raw inside as you do outside, but you don’t go because it would hurt even more,” she said and sighed. I felt the same way. Georgette looked at me for a moment and asked, “Did you want me to make a collar for her?”
